Following a noisy rollercoaster of a week that culminated in a disappointing NFP release, this week will start a bit quieter, as the US is off for a public holiday. Supply chain issues, an energy crisis, and labour shortages will surely be in focus again this week.

Most of the events to watch this week are focused around the U.S., with an FOMC meeting, plus CPI data, consumer confidence and retail sales. From the UK, we have employment data where we expect the rate to hold at 4.6%, trade balance and GDP with an expected gain. From China we have inflation data and PPI.

Earnings season is gearing up once again, with major banks like JPM, C and Blackrock reporting, and retailers like ASOS and French Connection. Have an excellent week.
